1. THE WORD OF GOD
We believe the Bible, both Old and New Testaments, to be the Word of God, fully inspired and without error in the original manuscripts, that it was given under the inspiration of the Holy Spirit, and that it nothing God says or does will contradict what is written therein. It is our source of revelation of God, the knowledge of salvation, the origin of all things and of the hereafter. It is the final Court of Appeal on all points of doctrine, life and godliness (! Tim 3:16-17; 1 Peter 1:21; Hebrews 4:12)
2. THE PERSON OF GOD
(i) We believe there is one living and true God (manifested as Father, Son and Holy Spirit) infinitely perfect and eternal in existence and equal in Glory, Majesty and Power.
(ii) We believe God to be the Creator of all things and the Author of eternal redemption.
(iii) We believe the Lord Jesus Christ is the only and all sufficient Saviour. We believe the Lord Jesus Christ to be God manifest in the flesh as the very Son of God, true God and true man, Creator of all things with the Father, and the appointed Judge of all men. (Colossians 1:12-19; Acts 17:31)
(iv) We believe in the virgin birth of Jesus Christ, his vicarious death on behalf of lost humanity, his appointed burial, his bodily resurrection, his ascension on high, his High-Priestly ministry in the heavenlies and his physical return to the earth to receive the righteous both living and dead, and to execute judgement upon mankind.
(v) We acknowledge the blessed Holy Spirit as Comforter, the divine agency of regeneration, the Revealer of Christ and His work on the cross, and the Distributor of gifts and graces upon the Church.
3. THE ORDINANCES OF THE CHURCH
We believe that water baptism and the Lord's Supper are ordinances to be observed by the church. They are, however, not to be regarded as a means of Salvation. They are also not to be used as simple tradition, but rather a physical act of a spiritual matter. We regard:
(i) Water baptism by immersion, as a visible representation of our death, burial and resurrection with Christ.
(ii) The Lord's Supper, as a means of fellowship of the Spiritual body of Christ, and as a partaking of the Spiritual benefits bequeathed to new Covenant believers through the perpetual reverent observance of the ordinance.
4. THE BAPTISM IN THE HOLY SPIRIT
(I) We believe in the baptism of the Holy Spirit, subsequent to the New Birth;
- this baptism gives power to believers as well as supernatural gifts.
- it injects the fruit of the Spirit into our lives and gives us the divine ability to love.
(Acts 1:8; Acts 10:44-46; 19:1-6; 1 Corinthians 12:5-11; Galatians 5:24; Romans 5:5)
5. THE UNIVERSAL CHURCH
We believe that every Christian is a member of the mystical Body of
Christ – His church (Colossians 1:18; Ephesians 1:20-23; 1 Corinthians 12:12-13; Ephesians 4:11-16)
The Church is not and has never been a physical building, but a spiritual body. The Church is called to be as the wind, unable to be held down. (John 3)
6. DIVINE HEALING
We believe that divine healing is part of the great gift of salvation and that through the gifts of healing, whether by the laying on of hands, the anointing with oil, or by simple faith alone, physical healing and deliverance from pain are privileges of humanity throughout the Gospel Age. (Mark 16:17-18; 1 Corinthians 2:9-10; 1 Peter 2:24; James 5:13-16).
7. EVANGELISM
We recognize that the mandate and privilege of the Christian is to spread the Gospel to the lost world making disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, Son and Holy Spirit and teaching them to obey everything that is commanded.
This may be accomplished by preaching the Word, praying, living according to the tenets of the Bible; and the sacrificial giving of the saints. (Acts 1:8; Matthew 28:18-20; Matthew 3:9-10; 1 Corinthians 9:7-23). Evangelism should be more than a sales-pitch, but rather the drive to show people the man Jesus Christ and to lead people to discover Him for themselves.
8. THE SECOND COMING OF CHRIST
We believe in the physical, personal, soon return of our Lord Jesus Christ and the events pertinent to the following scriptures: (Acts 1:11; 1 Thessalonians 4:16-17; Titus 2:12-14; 11 Thessalonians 1:7-10)
9. THE CHRIST-LIKE LIFE
We believe all Christians are called into a life of separation from sinful practices, and that they should take every opportunity to promote righteousness and godliness, which can only be accomplished through the regenerative power of the Holy Spirit and not in and of ourselves. (James 4:4; Romans 12:1-2; 1 John 2:15- 17; 11 Corinthians 6:13-18; Romans 13:1-10)
10. LAYING ON OF HANDS
We believe that the laying on of hands as practiced in the New Testament is an operation of the ministry of the Holy Spirit for:
- the dedication of children
- the ordination of ministries
- the sending out of ministries (Acts 13:3)
- the healing of the sick
- the baptism of the Holy Spirit
- the reception of spiritual gifts
11. We recognize that God is continually restoring truths and light to His Church. We, therefore, place no limit on further revelation. However, each must be substantiated according to the Scriptures.
